Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Do Your Employees Need Support?

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a short-term, independent and strictly confidential service for employers in Geelong. The program ensures your employees and their immediate family members have free access to counselling for personal or work-related concerns which may impact on their performance and wellbeing.

Employers can support their staff and become an employer of choice with an EAP. The counselling aims to address work-related concerns such as excessive workload, conflict with a colleague or role changes, or personal difficulties including major change, trauma, anxiety and depression.

The EAP service aims to enhance mental health and wellbeing, maximise productivity and improve organisational culture.

The Benefits of an EAP

Employers benefit from the EAP as it targets and improves:

  • Lost productivity
  • Absenteeism
  • High levels of stress and anxiety
  • Employee turnover
  • Accidents
  • Critical incidents

This voluntary and confidential service can lead to improvements in workplace culture and an increase in staff morale, performance and productivity.

The EAP can also form part of your commitment to employee health, safety and wellbeing and ensure you become an employer of choice in Geelong.

The EAP service is available 6-days a week, during and after business hours. The maximum number of sessions is negotiated with each employer but typically varies between 6-10 per person or family member, per calendar year.

Once a staff member has exhausted their free sessions, Head Start Counselling will discuss options based on their personal circumstances. Quite often, employees will continue with face-to-face counselling and personally cover the cost of their consultations.

Once an EAP agreement is in place, employees can book consultations directly and anonymously using the booking page.

Enquire About an EAP

Employers are encouraged to contact Head Start Counselling to request a brochure and discuss a tailored EAP to suit your needs.
